1. Quality requirements
Each standard puts forward relevant requirements for valve quality.① The chemical composition and mechanical properties of the valve body material meet the requirements of relevant material standards.② The deviation of the shape and size of the valve casting shall comply with the specifications of the drawings.③ The non-machined surface of the valve casting should be flat, smooth, free from adhering sand, oxide scale, pores, sand inclusion, cracks and other defects. The cast characters are clearly marked, and the gates and risers should be flush with the casting surface after cleaning.④ All parts of the valve should be connected firmly without loosening.③ The results of the pressure test and sealing performance test of the valve comply with the requirements of relevant test standards.④ The valve should be operated under the conditions of nominal pressure and specified pressure difference, and there should be no blockage in the opening and closing operations.③ It has a certain number of operations and service life. It has a large flow capacity (that is, after passing through the valve, the pressure loss at the valve is small).
2. Inspection and test methods
1 Casting quality
The shape and size of the casting shall comply with the requirements of the technical drawings or the specifications of the purchaser. If the drawings have no requirements for size deviation, the relevant provisions of JB/T2580, GB/T6414, and GB/ T2121 shall be followed for the materials. The minimum wall thickness, structural length deviation, and ram wear and displacement allowance of each part of the valve shall not be less than the requirements of relevant product technical standards or product drawings. The surfaces of valve blanks and finished valve pressure shells must not have flaws such as cracks, cold shuts, sand inclusions and pores. The sand, gates, risers and oxide scales on the casting surface should be cleaned up. The casting should be clear. The pressure bearing shell shall be tested at 115 times the nominal pressure specified in GB/ T 13927 standard, and the result shall be no visible leakage and no structural damage. The chemical composition and mechanical properties of the castings shall comply with the requirements of GB/ T 12225, GB/T 12226, GB/T 12227, GB/T 12229, and GB/ T 12230.
2 Pressure test
Pressure test is the most basic test for valves. Each valve needs to be pressure tested before leaving the factory. The test pressure and duration are in accordance with the provisions of GB/ T13927 standard. The test items include shell test and seal test. When the valve has an upper seal structure, the upper seal test is also required. During the test, no external force that affects the test results shall be applied to the valve. The test pressure should remain unchanged during pressure holding and testing. When using liquid as the test medium, the air in the valve body should be excluded. Valves shall be closed in the manner given by design. Relevant standards for testing include GB/T 13927, MSS SP61, ISO 5208, DIN 3230, API598, NFM 872401, ANSI B16134, J IS B2003, BS 5417 and BS 6755.
The valve shell test is a pressure test on the entire valve shell connected by the valve body and the bonnet. The purpose is to check the tightness of the valve body and bonnet, that is, the pressure resistance of the entire housing, including the connection between the valve body and bonnet. Painting and other leakage-preventing coatings on valves are not allowed until housing testing is carried out. When users conduct random inspections of inventory valves, the existing coating will not be removed. The shell test requires that the shell, including the connection between the valve body and the bonnet, shall not leak or have structural damage.
The seal test is a test to check the performance of the opening and closing parts and valve body sealing pairs. The sealing test is divided into high-pressure liquid sealing test and low-pressure gas sealing test. Before the sealing test, except for valves sealed by grease, the oil stains on the sealing surface should be removed, but protective agents with a viscosity no greater than none are allowed to be applied. During the test, the valve with the specified medium flow direction is pressurized in the specified flow direction, and the check valve is pressurized from the outlet end.
