1. Gate valves are mainly used to connect or cut off the media in the pipeline. They are widely used in various pipeline systems to control the pressure and flow of fluids, but are not suitable for adjusting the flow of media;
2. The medium channel inside the valve body is straight, and the medium flows in a straight line, with small flow resistance;
3、启闭时较省力，是与截止阀相比而言，因为无论是开或闭，闸板运动方向均与介质流动方向相垂直；
4、高度大，启闭时间长。闸板的启闭行程较大，升降是通过阀杆进行的；
5、由于通常关闭时间较长，所以不易产生水锤现象。
