[Abstract] This article details the structure and working principle of the thermostatic valve

Structure of temperature control valve

The thermostatically controlled valve developed by our research team can be seen from the structural diagram of the device, which are the shell, the lower end connection piece, the octagonal connection nut, and the bottom valve connection piece. They determine the shape of the device and play a role in fixing, connecting and supporting the parts inside. Fasteners determine and adjust the position of internal parts, and they structurally stably cooperate with other parts. Other internal parts are, in order from top, a warm package, a Ti-Ni memory alloy spring set, a heat insulating rubber rod, a plastic valve, a magnetic coupling structure, a support spring and a support spring sleeve. The heat insulating rubber rod and the plastic valve isolate the upper and lower heat in the middle of the device. The flow improves the temperature control accuracy of the device. The following is the structural diagram of the thermostat valve (see Figure 1).

Working principle of thermostats

The temperature control valve uses the temperature-sensitive element of the valve to control the valve opening. Its working process is as follows:

When the indoor temperature rises, the temperature-sensitive material expands and compresses the spring, thereby driving the valve stem to close the valve port smaller, and the amount of water entering the radiator is reduced, which reduces the amount of heat dissipation to the indoor, thereby lowering the room temperature; on the contrary, the valve stem springs back, the valve port opens wider, the amount of water entering increases, and the amount of heat supplied to the indoor increases, raising the indoor temperature.

When there are other auxiliary heat sources in the room (such as sunlight during the day, other heating bodies, etc.), the valve automatically closes small to reduce the amount of water entering the radiator, ultimately achieving the purpose of saving energy, and greatly improving the comfort of the room.
