[Abstract] Based on Edsen's years of industry experience, this article explains the installation process of floor heating water separators and attaches a schematic diagram of the floor heating water separators.

How to install a floor heating water separator

1. Connecting water inlet and outlet

The floor heating water separator should be firmly fixed on the wall with special fixing parts or placed in a special box. The main pipe of the water collector should be installed more than 30cm away from the floor. The inlet and outlet of each loop heating pipe shall be connected to a water separator and a water collector respectively. The inner diameter of the water separator and water collector shall not be less than the inner diameter of the total supply and return pipe, and the flow velocity of the maximum section of the water separator and water collector shall not be greater than 0.8 m/s.

Each water divider and water collector branch loop should not exceed 8 roads. Too many loops will cause the pipes at the water diversion device to be too dense, which is not conducive to installation. Copper ball valves and other shut-off valves should be installed on the water supply and return pipes of each branch loop;

2. Corresponding installation of valves

On the water supply connecting pipe in front of the water separator, an inlet valve should be installed in the direction of water flow, mainly for closing when cleaning the filter and replacing or repairing the heat metering device. The inlet valve has a filtering function to prevent impurities from clogging the flowmeter and heating pipes. The valves and filters in front of the heat metering device can also be replaced with filter ball valves.

On the return water connection pipe behind the water collector, a drain pipe should be installed and a return valve or other shut-off regulating valve should be installed. System accessories should be made of corrosion-resistant materials, and drainage devices should be installed for flushing pipelines and drainage before acceptance and during subsequent maintenance. It is best that the drainage devices should have drainage devices such as floor drains nearby. Heat metering devices should be installed for systems with heat metering requirements;

3. Set up bypass

A bypass pipe should be set between the main inlet pipe of the water separator and the main outlet pipe of the water collector, and a valve should be set on the bypass pipe. The connection position of the bypass pipe should be between the starting end of the main water inlet pipe (before the valve) and the end of the main water outlet pipe (after the valve) to ensure that water does not flow into the heating pipe when flushing the heating pipeline system;

4. Set manual or automatic exhaust valves

Manual or automatic exhaust valves should be installed on the water separator and water collector, and automatic exhaust valves should be installed as much as possible to avoid air collection caused by factors such as cold and hot pressure differences and water replenishment during future use, which will cause the system to run. obstructed.
